Bulldogs Adult Sports Elmira (BASE) Policies

All leagues are self-officiated, captains are responsible to ensure all team members are aware of the rules.
All skill levels are welcomed! This is the first year we are running, so until we know the level of interest we will not be dividing between a recreational and competitive level at this time.
Team names: please be appropriate when creating team names. No discrimination, profanity, sexual messages, violence etc. Bulldogs Adult Sports Elmira Inc. retain the right to ask you to select a different team name if it violates any of the above.
If a team name is already picked or similar the first team to pick it will be able to use it. The other team will be contacted and asked to select a new team name.

This is a fun recreational league for adults to remain active locally!
All players and spectators are expected to keep sportsmanship in mind.
Captains are held accountable for the behaviour of players and spectators and will be held responsible for their actions.
·If there is an issue with a player or team in the league, the captain may contact Bulldogs Adult Sports Elmira regarding the matter. Please try to resolve the issue with your opponent first.
Each sport will have a convenor on site. If there is an issue on site and Cassey Brubacher is not present, you may reach out to them. They may escalate the issue to Cassey Brubacher.
·We will be sending out spirit rating to each team. If there is a poor spirit rating, we will contact the captain of the team. First contact is a warning, initial email conversation to review sportsmanship rules.
A second time there is a poor rating, we will communicate with the captain about a possible suspension or a player/team as well as a consideration of discontinuation from the league WITHOUT any refund.
If a player or team continue to fail to adhere to our sportsmanship policy, will be reviewed for future participation with possibility of being denied acceptance into any future sports league.

There is a zero-tolerance guideline in effect. You will be asked by either the director or convenor of the league to leave the facility immediately if you commit any of the following:
·Swearing at anyone (participant, convenor, director, spectator).
Intentional physical contact with someone.
Making comments at someone to initiate an altercation.
Any of these actions, will result in a suspension.
·There is a zero tolerance on alcohol consumption. First offence is a warning, second offence will result in being removed from the league without refund.

Games will be played unless the School Board or Woolwich Township has closed facilities.
If there is bad weather and games are cancelled, there will be a notice on website, social media, and email sent out to captains as soon as we are made aware of the cancellation.
Outdoor sports are played rain or shine. Except for lightning. If there is lightning, we will cancel the game.
Once at the field, if it is too wet, the convenor will make the final call to cancel the game.
If lightning occurs during the game, wait 20 minutes. If it is not cleared up, there is still sign of lightning the game will be cancelled. If you reached the halfway point of your game, the points would count. If you did not reach the halfway point, then the game will result in a tie.

If there is a game cancelled due to weather, we will try to rebook a make-up game.
If we are unable to successfully reschedule a game, there will not be a refund. We make every effort possible to try and reschedule a game!
If you signed up and can no longer play, we will refund full amount if more than 2 weeks prior to start date of the first game.
If you cancel with less than 2 weeks before start date, then we cannot refund your money back. This applies to both individual and team registration. Unless we can find a replacement to fill your spot prior to the start of the season.
Up until the halfway point of the season, if you injure yourself and no longer able to play, we will refund the pro-rated amount for games not played (minus $20 admin fee). A medical note from your doctor will need to be provided to receive your refund.
After the halfway mark of a season, no refunds will be granted under any circumstance.
